A path that's anything but a straight line
It all started at 14, with my first website built out of curiosity. The web never let go of me since.
Before becoming a UI/UX designer, I spent several years in digital printing — flyers, business cards, vehicle wraps, textiles — teaching myself design along the way. That's where I learned to care about visual polish, respect a brand's guidelines, and think of a finished product rather than a draft.
I then worked twelve years as a special-needs support worker in a social care setting. That job taught me to listen before proposing anything, to explain complex things simply, and to adapt to very different situations from one person to the next. It's a skill I use every day in my current work: understanding a need before drafting a brief.
In 2023, I earned my professional UI/UX Designer qualification and the OPQUAST certification (web best practices), and launched JD Création Web. I comply with GDPR across all my projects. Since then, I've built more than 30 websites for businesses, using modern tools — including AI, which has let me quickly broaden my technical skills (I'm no longer limited to WordPress: I also build with more modern technologies like Astro or Next.js depending on the project's needs).
